Concerning The Cross 4

Continue To Concerning The Cross 5

The young man, and his great possession. If it aint one thing, it is another, that will keep the dead, from passing from death unto life. For the young man, as the answer to his question, of what, he still needed (Matthew 19:20), it was his great possession, and his unwillingness to give them up and follow Jesus. As a lesson taught, to the young man, and to the dead today, Jesus was saying, there is nothing of this world can save us, but of God, in Christ; he is the only way to salvation. And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? (Matthew 19:16) And he said unto him, why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. (Matthew 19:17) He saith unto him, which? Jesus said, thou shalt do no murder, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness. (Matthew 19:18) Honour thy father and thy mother: and thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self. (Matthew 19:19) The young man saith unto him, all these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? (Matthew 19:20) Jesus said unto him, if thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. (Matthew 19:21) But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. (Matthew 19:22) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, that a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:23) And again I say unto you, it is easier for a Camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. (Matthew 19:24) When his disciples heard it, they were amazed, saying, who then can be saved? (Matthew 19:25) But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

God's creation proves to be slow or unwilling to trust God. It is very clear that God will do what he says he will; in review of prior lessons, many important facts come to light, and the heart burned within because of the continued love of God, Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them to the end. (John 13:1) But it is just as clear that man can be slowful, and sometimes unfatihful, in their relationship with the God-head. In the review of the first incident of unfaithfulness and no trust in God. Adam and Eve found they can hide from God, but they can't hide from God! The lessons have taught us of the true commitment and faithfulness of Christ to God, and of his faithfulness to God's creation. Adam and Eve, after being commanded to be fruitful, learned that it is not fruitful to doubt God in any way, but sadly, even in Eden, they did it, and it does happen, even to the believer, beyond the Garden of Eden. It is true, that Satan was there in the beginning to rob, steal, and destroy; he was there to take away the joy the first family had in Jesus. It is also true that the family should have put all their faith and trust in the Lord, they have everything they need, plus the love and cover of God; he that is in us is greater than he that is in the world. In lesson three, the student learned from the first test of man's commitment, and trust, and man's level of faith in God; the student learned not to disobey God, and the student learned, Satan is up to no good. The goal of lesson four, is to help the student understand the necssary contributions required of the non-believer and the believer.

Guilding Question: How strong is your faith?

Guiding Question: What did the Lord give up?

Guiding Question: What is the Lord's final reward?

Guiding Question: What is the believer final reward?

Guiding Question: What is the reward of non-belief?

Jesus was with God in The Beginning

The God-Head. In order to trust Jesus Christ; it is necessary to learn of him. The more the student learn, the more the student will increase in faith. In Paul's letter to the Ephesians, he says, wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is (Ephesians 5:17); understanding God's will is the foundation for obtaining wisdom in line with the will of God. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, (2 Peter 1:2). The first thing the student should know is Jesus left his home in glory to save a sinful people. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the word of life; (1 John 1:1) (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) (1 John 1:2) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. (1 John 1:3) And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. (1 John 1:4)

The Rewards of the believer's suffering

It profits the believer to suffer steadfast in faith. It is hard to endure such afflictions as Job. Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them. (Job 1:6) We all suffer! Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, and of tender mercy (James 5:11) Beloved think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you. (1 Peter 4:12) And he said unto me, it is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. (Revelation 21:6) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. (Revelation 21:7) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolater, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)

New Heaven And New Earth

John saw a new heaven and a new earth. And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (Revelation 21:1) And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (Revelation 21:2) And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (Revelation 21:3) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4)
